The original ‘werewolf’ was neither man nor wolf but a primal creature whose existence, going back to the late Pleistocene Epoch of the Quaternary period, remains closely guarded, a puzzlement given that every true case of pathogen-based lycanthropy is inherently linked to them. They freely walk among us, but their presence is rarely disclosed. When they make an appearance, they come to perform specific tasks, operate with lethal accuracy, seldom leave survivors, and quickly retreat to the sanctity of obscurity, unless, of course, something happens to distract them…

During the month of October 1993, a naive chemist, a diligent detective, and a special family in a rural North Georgia community find themselves in the middle of the mission, —and live to tell about it.
